Declaration of the Bab

Declaration of the Báb

At the Baha’i Center of Minneapolis

On Wednesday May 22nd at 9:00pm

“It is a blessed day and the dawn of manifestation, for the appearance of the Báb was the early light of the true morn, whereas the manifestation of the Blessed Beauty, Bahá’u’lláh, was the shining forth of the sun. Therefore, it is a blessed day, the inception of the heavenly bounty, the beginning of the divine effulgence.”

-- ‘Abdu’l-Bahá

On that day in 1844, a traveler, a young man, frail and tired after many days on the road, was led through his prayers to the city of Shiraz after he had spent 40 days in fasting and meditation asking for guidance in his search for his beloved, the Promised One. Please join us in happiness as we remember that most eventful night.  A delightful program is planned, with a special performance by the junior youth.

Observance of the Birth of the Bab

Birth of the Bab
Friday, October 19, 7:30 PM

Inside the Bab's home

The day is an observance of the anniversary of the birth on Oct. 20, 1819, in Shiraz, Persia (now Iran), of Siyyid ‘Ali-Muhammad, who later took the title of “the Bab,” meaning “the Gate.” The Bab was the herald of the Baha’i Faith.
