Movie Night at the Minneapolis Bahai Center

Movie Goers,
This week we are showing the film "The Power of Forgiveness"

P.S. This Friday is special because the Holy Day "The Ascension of Abdu'l-Baha" is commemorated later that evening. At 12:30 am, Nov. 28 we will gather for a service. All are welcome. The holy day is marked at the hour of his passing which was 1 am in the morning.

The Birth of Baha'u'llah : Celebrating the great Festival

This most happy of days will be joyously celebrated
at the Baha'i Center of Minneapolis

Holy Days in November

Birth of Baha’u’llah (Nov. 12):
Baha’is observe the anniversary of the birth of Baha’u’llah (born Mirza Husayn-‘Ali) on Nov. 12, 1817, in Tehran, Persia (now Iran). Baha’u’llah, which means the “Glory of God,”is the founder of the Baha’i Faith. It is one of the nine holy days of the year when work is suspended.

Day of the Covenant (Nov. 26):
This festival commemorates Baha’u’llah’s appointment of his eldest son, ‘Abdu’l-Baha, as the Center of His Covenant.

Ascension of ‘Abdu’l-Baha (Nov 28):
Baha’is observe the anniversary of the death of ‘Abdu’l-Baha, son of Baha’u’llah and His appointed succesor, on Nov 28, 1921 in Haifa, in what is now northern Israel.

awaited by all the peoples of the world.
The title Báb means "the Gate." Although Himself the bearer of an
independent revelation from God, the
Báb declared that His purpose was to prepare mankind for this advent.

9th Day of Ridvan

the 9th Day of Ridvan will NOT be observed at the Baha'i Center. It will be at Auerbach Commons of the Law School at the U of M.

The University of Minnesota Baha’i Campus Association invites the Minneapolis community to celebrate the 9th Day of Ridvan. The celebration will begin on Wednesday, April 29th at 8:15 p.m. and will last until about 10:00 p.m. Ed Rice will speak on the significance of the event; and Amirhossein Kiani, a member of the Iran's House of Art student group will perform traditional Persian music on his tar. Refreshments will be provided. There will be a children's program.


Below are directions based on parking in the free parking garage.

Here are walking directions once you have reached the free parking garage located at 400 21st Avenue S Minneapolis, MN. Remember you can also pay $6 to park directly outside of the law school (229 19th Avenue S).

Directions from the Parking Garage to the Law School
• exit the parking garage on 21st ave (the same road you entered from)
• take a left and walk towards the first road (4th St. South)
• take a left on 4th St.
• continue on 4th St. past Carlson School of Management (on the left)
• Take a right at 19th avenue
• continue on 19th ave. over the bridge that goes over Washington Ave.
• at the 1st stoplight after the bridge turn right (the law school is the building to the right)
• enter through the front glass doors
• Auerbach commons is straight ahead in the Law School

Alternative (quicker but trickier directions)
• after turning left onto 4th st. there is a small driveway (on the right side of 4th st. leading towards the University)
• straight ahead of you will be a bicycle lane (2 lanes) painted on the ground
• continue to follow the bike lane north through the University
o there will be a small wishbone but continue walking straight (towards the north)
• continue following the bike lane up the ramp
• follow the bike lane as it turns to the left
• the bike lane will come to an end near a staircase
• after going down the staircase stay on the sidewalk (the law school will be on your left and a parking lot will be on the right)
• as you get to the front of the law school you will take a left at the circle driveway and the glass doors will be directly in front of you
• after you enter the law school, Auerbach Commons will be directly in front of you

station/table for animal balloons,
potting plants (who’s into gardening?),
and clean up.
